What Can I Say???

We're nearly two days into the Republican convention, and frankly I'm at a loss for words. Sure, the rhetoric has been great. No argument there. My problem is this... What does what these people are saying have to do with the reality in which we're actually living?

Iraq is a disaster. Afghanistan is arguably worse. Osama bin Laden is still at large. Anti-American sentiment is at an all time high. As are Federal deficits. The middle class tax burden is rising. Entitlement spending has exploded. The ranks of the working poor and uninsured are growing. Each night, more children are falling asleep hungry than the night before.

And yet, here they are, standing up and acting as if the world is a better place today than it was four years ago. What planet are these people living on? And how is it that so many Americans buy this bullshit? Yes, Bush is a decisive leader. So what? Its not decisiveness that matters. It's not even the decision that matters. It is the results of the decision that matters. Words? They mean nothing. Maybe even less than nothing.

So for tonight, nothing from me. I just can't stomach it.

Until I return, read these posts from blogs better than my own.
