Wow! An explicit reference to "separate but equal" in a marriage case. Gotta love that!
Let the hysteria from the far right begin!
UPDATE: The judge that wrote the opinion? A catholic Republican appointed by former governor (and Republican) Pete Wilson. Whoops!
Here's what one of the opponents to gay marriage had to say about the ruling:
| "We do not believe it is appropriate for judges in this setting to overturn the will of the people." |
Nice standard - sheer majority rule. So... I suppose they oppose school desegregation as well?
