This is just unbelievable. If it were up to Sen. Santorum, not only would Roe vs Wade be overturned, so would Griswold v. Connecticut. For those of you not up on your Supreme Court history (shame on you!), that's the case that overturned state prohibitions against the sale and use of birth control products on the grounds that such restrictions violated a constitutional right to privacy.

That's right. Rolling back the right to an abortion is not enough. Santorum believes that states should be able to prohibit the use of birth control by its citizens. Go small government conservative, go! Yes, I know, his explanation is a bit more nuanced than I'm giving him credit for, but nevertheless... at its heart, the case he makes suggests a much, MUCH stronger federal government than any true "conservative" would ever be comfortable with.

I just wish Crooks & Liars had the video on his idiotic "Boston liberal" tangent too. Ah well....

Can you believe this guy is seriously considered a contender for 2008?
