Another big national poll out today, this time from Harris. As we've seen with virtually eery other poll recently, support for the president is plummeting. He's managed to stay above the psychologically critical 40% mark, but only just. And yes, lest there be any doubt, it is the war in Iraq that is driving the fall. Over the course of the summer, the number of people naming the war as the #1 issue for the country nearly doubled from 24 to 41%. Which makes you wonder... what the hell is wrong with 59% of the people in this country?
