REASON TO OPPOSE

So the rumor making the rounds this early AM is that the president has selected one of his closest friends and advisors in the White House (surprise!) to fill Justice O'Conner's spot on the High Court. Having never been a judge, she has little to no paper trail to examine, a fact that will put the Dems in quite a bind.

From a personal standpoint, however, if what David Frum says here is true, I think its safe to assume that she is not qualified to sit on the Court:

In the White House that hero worshipped the president, Miers was distinguished by the intensity of her zeal: She once told me that the president was the most brilliant man she had ever met.

Now I've obviously never met the president, but... the "most brilliant man she's ever met?" Does this woman not get out much? How is that possible? Whatever this woman's judicial philosophy might or might not be, she clearly has some issues with judgement. So for now, put me down in opposition to her nomination.
