Saddam had to go because he didn't abide by International treaties and agreements. And once he was gone neither did we.
Saddam had to go because he tortured innocent civilians. And once he was gone we opened our own torture rooms.
Saddam had to go because he operated rape rooms. And once he was gone we opened our own, too.
Saddam had to go because he used chemical weapons on innocent civilians. And once he was gone we did that, too.
Say what you will about the boys over at Daily Kos, but they have definitive proof from the US Army itself that we have indeed used white phosphorous rounds on Iraqi civilians. I know, I know. Please. Read for yourself. Make up your own mind. But this is information from the US Army's Field Artillery Magazine that directly confirms the report in the UK's Independent.
And for the record, yes - anything that melts the skin off of large numbers of innocent civilian women and children counts as a "weapon of mass destruction" and a "chemical weapon." As Hunter points out, unless you're willing to stand on record as pro-child melting, there is no way you can possibly defend this. No way.
This is just beyond belief. Beyond belief. What the hell is happening to this country? Is this really the best we can do? Is this really what 225+ years of freedom and liberty is all about? This?
