Fate clearly has a sense of humor with this one. The man served as one of the sources of inspiration for Top Gun. Sure, there are plenty of movies that you could pick to better represent the 1980's, but you'd be hard pressed to find one that better represented the Reagan era. And here we are, 20 years later... Conservatism is a shell of its former self, the coalition that Reagan built is on its way out the door, and the man who inspired the character of "Maverick" is on his way to prison.
Never EVER cross fate. She is one hell of a vindictive bitch.
The corruption runs deep in DC these days. No doubt there are some nervous nellies running around the Capitol tonight.
UPDATE: Here's one of them. Kyle "Dusty" Foggo, the #3 man at the CIA, is now under investigation for activities related to Cunningham's corruption. The NUMBER 3 MAN at the CIA. And the best part is that his appointment was controversial from day one.
And as an aside, what's with all these guys having Muppet Show nicknames? Scooter? Duke? Dusty? The Hammer?
UPDATE II: Wow. Now this is truly weird. Peter, from Peter, Paul, and Mary, appeared in court with Cunningham to ask that the judge go easy on the Dukestir. Up really is down. And now my head hurts. (Hat tip: Josh @ TalkingPointsMemo
