UPDATE: Digby has a point. During the exchange, Matthews tells DeLay about information he received about a series of Democratic Party focus groups, and when DeLay says he hasn't heard about them, Matthews offers to forward them along. Why is Matthews, a supposed journalist, offering Democratic Party focus group information to a disgraced Republican Party official? I realize that summaries of the research are all over the blogs, but that doesn't mean that Matthews should be offering to provide it to DeLay, does it? Do journalists usually share the information they've gathered with the people they are covering?
