CBS News: 33% approval
Some highlights:
+ 71% say the nation is on the wrong track, the highest CBS has ever recorded. The last time any polling company showed numbers like that? 1979. Can you say "realignment?" I knew you could!
+ When asking the "most important national issue" question, CBs inexplicably broke "gas prices" and "economy" into two separate questions. As if those were two separate issues. combined, they received 25% of the responses, 2 points more than the war in Iraq.
USA TODAY: 34% approval
Some highlights:
+ Dems hold a 54/39 advantage in a generic question about the upcoming congressional elections.
+ But 59% nevertheless say their own rep should be reelected. Idiots.
+ Bush's unfavorable rating broke 60% for the first time
+ Of the 7 specific issue related approval questions, in not one did Bush come out ahead. He's even now lost a majority of the nation on handling terrorism
