That's Cokie Roberts' take on what a Lamont victory on Tuesday would mean for the Democrats. Two thoughts...
One: She's nuts. A solid majority of both the nation and the state of Connecticut is both opposed to this war and to this administration. Lamont mirrors that view. How that is a disaster is beyond me.
Two: Remember that in the late 1970's, all the cool kids in DC were utterly convinced that electing Ronald Reagan would be a complete disaster for the Republican Party. It was supposed to be Goldwater redux. Remind me again how that worked out?
