Justin Logan over at Cato Institute takes on the issue of bad intelligence and makes a very important observation The history of our intelligence on the Iranian nuclear weapons progamr has been one of consistently overestimating their progress and capabilities. But now, all of a sudden, we're supposed to believe that - for real this time - they are on the verge of obtaining a bomb!
On a not entirely unrelated topic... I'll have Fiasco done next week, and hope to be back with some extended thoughts on the book. Pre-war intelligence figures prominently in the first 1/3 of the work, and his conclusions - or rather, the conclusions of the US military - are quite surprising. More soon...
