I really, REALLY wish I had more time to comment on this.

I cannot possibly think of a better example arguing for a coming political realignment than this. Al Franken, Sen. Ted Kennedy, James Carville and Sen. Hillary Clinton all have contributed testimonials to an upcoming HBO movie about Barry Goldwater. This is PRECISELY what happens when realignments come. And moreover, the "our greatness lies in our misunderstood and misinterpreted past" argument lies a the heart of Stephen Skowronek's theory of reconstructive politics. But never in a million years would I have thought I would have seen an example as perfect as this.
