Apparently I know nothing about American politics....

Over the past few weeks, I've noticed a surprising number of Republicans making the claim that liberals tend to be anti-Israel. Today's entry, in fact, comes from none other than Rudy Giuliani.

Now call me crazy, but.... aren't most Jewish Americans liberal? Isn't that something that's considered common knowledge?

I mean, take, for example, this simple fact:

...no Republican presidential candidate has won a majority of Jewish votes since Warren Harding in 1920...

Or maybe this one?

An overwhelming majority of American Jews - 73 percent - describe themselves as moderate or liberal; 23 percent label themselves as conservative.

I'm really genuinely baffled by all this. Are they not thinking about what they are saying, or do they really believe that Jewish Americans hate Israel?

I'm lost.
