Once upon a time, we were promised that Iraq would "really finance its own reconstruction" through oil revenues. Now? Now, despite the fact hat its sitting atop the world’s third-largest proven oil reserves, its facing drastic fuel shortages. Shortages that have now grown so bad that the nation has been forced to import oil products.
If that doesn't sum up this war, nothing does. We have screwed up so badly that Iraq is now forced to import oil.
The silver lining? I guess it undercuts that whole "we invaded to take their oil" line of reasoning, now doesn't it?
