Anonymous Liberal lays out one of the best answers I've yet seen to the charge that the Dems don't yet have a "master plan" for fighting terrorism. What if what's needed more than anything is patience and flexibility? From that long term perspective, producing a master plan might actually be counter productive.
I find it particularly interesting that his post comes as a response to Andrew Sullivan. After all, it was conservatives who once upon a time scoffed at the idea that master planning on a scale such as this was even possible!
If short term is what you're looking for, however, Kevin Drum's got you covered. He too was baffled by Andrew's complaint, and as a result has produced a detailed "compare and contrast" between Andrew's requests and the announced Democratic Party national security agenda. And he's right - it's really quite close to what Andrew wants.
So far, no response from Sullivan on either count. I know he reads Drum, and I suspect he reads AL... Hey Andrew... Why the silence?
