I really don't think you could offer up a more idiotic excuse if you tried. Really.
Also, as an aside, whenever I hear the word "snafu" used, I always wonder if people know what it really means. Its a word that comes to us from GI's who served in the Army in WWII, and means "situation normal: all fucked up". Is that really what Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.) meant to say?
