In the future, when history is written, just remember: it's not that we weren't told what was going on. It's that we looked the other way.
As I said a few days back, we can call our actions whatever we wish, but all the creative euphemisms in the world won't hide the truth of our actions from future generations. Just as our Founding Fathers are judged by both their words and deeds, so too will future generations contrast our ideals with our actions. We are making an unnecessary mistake that will stain our reputation forever. It may one day be overcome, but it will never be forgotten. Andrew is right: we knew, but we chose to look the other way.
