Via Andrew Sullivan, your president:

"As long as the War Crimes Act hangs over their heads, they [interrogators] will not take the steps necessary to protect [Americans]," -- President Bush

How anyone can possibly defend this man is utterly beyond me. Bush compares this war to WWII, yet he's willing to cast aside one of the most important outcomes of that very same war, the creation and imposition of international war crimes. He claims we are defending civilization, yet he would throw away some of our most cherished values to do it. Unbelievable.
