Iraq, Iran, North Korea. They are, we were told, an axis of evil. They must be stopped.

So I have to ask.... Was this part of the plan?

That's Iraqi PM Maliki meeting with Iranian President Ahmadinejad yesterday, meeting to announce the "excellent bilateral ties between the Iranian and Iraqi governments and nations."

Before our invasion, Iran and Iraq were the worst of enemies. Now they have become the best of friends. And yet this weekend, VP Cheney proudly proclaimed that, "if we had it to do over again, we’d do exactly the same thing."

So does that mean we can then assume that linking two parts of the axis of evil in friendship was part of the original Cheney plan?
