MoreMcCain, More Nonsense

I know that everyone is utterly convinced that John McCain is going to be the Republican nominee in 2008, but I beg to differ. The man has dug himself a very, VERY deep hole on Iraq, and the worse things get over there, the more damaging its going to be for him.

He's calling for more troops, not less. He wants us to increase our commitment, not decrease it. If between now and 2008 any sort of reduction or redeployment begins, unless he decides to completely abandon his current position, he's going to find himself in the very awkward position of standing opposed to a vast majority of Americans on the issue. Does anyone seriously think that the public will be receptive to a message that says "Stop the deployment! Send more troops!"? Really?
