Yes, what Clinton did back in the 1990's was far from perfect. But it is hard to see how, given the options available to him, it could have been improved upon. Bush, disliking everything Clintonian, replaced Clinton's policy of engagement with what essentially amounts to no policy. Six years later, North Korea may have gone nuclear. And yet somehow I'm supposed to feel safer.
