I've said it before and I'll say it again... I don't care if they are Republicans or Democrats: if they are dirty, get 'em out.

I have no idea what Abramoff will say, nor do I have a clue which "six to eight" Democratic senators are "seriously corrupt." But if it is true, get them out. And do it sooner rather than later. Nancy needs to drain the swamp, and she needs to do it now.

All that said... The time is a bit odd, no? They wait until after the election to drop this bomb? I don't know whether that makes it more believable or less. But it is certainly noteworthy.

UPDATE: On a related note, I think Kos and Stoller hit just the right notes here. Murtha is far from perfect, but we, both as a party and as a nation, owe him a great deal for almost singlehandedly transforming the debate on Iraq. Yes, his past is sketchy. But if McCain can become Mr. Campaign Finance Reform, anything is possible. Trust but verify, right?
