I've been wondering when this would start...

For years now we've been told by the civilian administration, all the way on up tot he Commander in Chief, that the "Generals" have always been given everything they asked for. It's a lie, of course, but its one they've consistently told from the very beginning.

From the first time I heard it, I knew eventually it would turn into an excuse. One day I knew they would try to turn around and pin all of the blame on our soldiers, the very same ones they ordered into war.

That day, apparently, is today:

GOP HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER JOHN BOEHNER: Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld.

WOLF BLITZER: But he's in charge of the military.

BOEHNER: But the fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president.

Blame the troops for this disaster and I guarantee you, the Republican Party will lose the military for a full generation, if not longer.
