Due Process For Me But Not For Thee

A major contributor to the National Republican Congressional Committee was indicted last week for his role in financing terrorist training camps in Afghanistan. Believe it or not, this is the second time in just over a year this has happened to the NRCC.

Numerous people have already called on the NRCC to return the money. Here is their response:

"We are extremely concerned and disturbed by these charges but we need to be careful not to rush to judgment as the judicial process moves forward. If the individual in question is actually found guilty of a crime, it is our intent to donate the money to charity."

Meanwhile, in other news, many of the sponsors of terrorism in Gitmo aren't likely to ever have a trial, and those that do get one apparently will have to wait years.

Apparently we have one standard for people who allegedly fund hundreds of terrorists while living here in the United States, but a separate, much stricter one for individuals living in remote areas of Afghanistan who receive such funds.

That's one approach to homeland security, I suppose...
