I know there are many out there who fear this line of attack. But be not afraid. Not only is it inevitable - when in human history have the architects of failed wars ever accepted responsibility for their failure? - in this case it will inevitably fail.
A large and growing majority of this nation are already opposed to this war. The minority responsible for the conduct of the war are attempting to blame the majority for their failures. Rather than absolve them of their mistakes, this will only compound them, marginalizing their influence in future debates.
