Your 20 year old girlfriend was one thing. Because it was a first thing. And really, who can blame you? But now you're starting to establish a pattern. And while I have no doubt that SF won't even so much as manage a collective shrug, you just set your national political prospects back a good decade, if not more. Silly, silly Gavin.
UPDATE: For the record, when I said SF wouldn't so much as shrug, I meant the people of SF, not its political class. They, predictably, have gone bonkers, with some even asking whether or not he should resign.
I'm sorry, what? Resign? What he did was wrong, but it wasn't illegal. The guy apparently doesn't have a clue about how to handle his personal relationships. But what does that have to do with, in the words of one of his political opponents, "homelessness, crime, the facts about the 49ers..."?
And this is San Frandisco we're talking about, not DC. Does anyone outside of SF's small circle of political elites really think the city is going to up and pull a Clinton on its mayor? Really?
Have any of these people ever been to the Folsom St. Fair? Or Bay to Breakers? Or, hell... the Castro, Mission, or Marina on any given weekend? C'mon... I know they've at least been to the Marina.
What is wrong with these people?
