The Oscars Go Green

As I listened to Al Gore last night talk about how the Oscar's had "gone green," I wondered precisely what that meant. My hope was that they might have actually decided to try to move the event towards being carbon neutral, but I doubted whether or not they would actually be that serious about it. Turns out my doubts were misplaced.

In the past, each of the attendees received gift baskets, with the value of the gifts totaling close to $100,000. No more. Last night's baskets included two items: a glass sculpture from designer Simon Pearce and 100,000 lbs of CO2 reductions from TerraPass.

If we all would just do our part....
