JOHN EDWARDS AND HIS WIFE, ELIZABETH, TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE THURSDAY AT NOON ET -- DEVELOPING
He had recently cancelled a campaign stop to return home to be with his wife. I have no idea what this is all about, but given the late hour at which it was announced it cannot be good. If you are the type who prays, now would be a good time to offer one up for him and his family.

CHAPEL HILL -- Presidential hopeful John Edwards was back in North Carolina on Wednesday to attend an unexpected doctor's appointment with his wife, after canceling a campaign appearance in Iowa.Doctors diagnosed Elizabeth Edwards with cancer in 2004, but she's since been in remission.
Doctors at Duke Cancer Center Raleigh say follow-up visits are routine for a cancer survivor.
...Her husband, John Edwards, appeared in Iowa Tuesday to discuss global warming and energy, but he then canceled a house party that was to follow to be with his wife.
Edwards' camp released this statement:
“Mrs. Edwards is having a follow up medical appointment to a routine test she had on Monday. She's had similar follow ups in the past and they've resulted in a clean bill of health, but Mr. Edwards has gone with her to these appointments, and he wanted to be at this one too."

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards accompanied his wife, Elizabeth, who has been treated for breast cancer, on a doctor's visit Wednesday. His campaign said they would hold a news conference in their hometown Thursday to discuss her health.
