I'm listening to today's Town Hall Meeting that MoveOn is holding to discuss Iraq so that you don't have to. Sort of....
Edwards: Came out swinging. Directly: Congress should defund the war. Indirectly: Obama should being so wishy-washy. Ouch.
Biden: I missed this section. Can't say that I'm terribly upset about it.
Kucinich: Because he has always been for peace, only he knows how to find peace in Iraq. So if you want peace, vote for him. He knows peace like no one else.
Richardson: I'd get the Sunni, Shi'a, and Kurds into a room, I'd tell them that they are going to form a coalition government - a "reconciliation conference" - and then I'd make them form a coalition. I thought Richardson's expertise was diplomacy, but apparently I was wrong. Apparently his expertise is finding magical ponies.
Clinton: I've been fighting to end this war for 2 years. 2 YEARS! And I have a website that will challenge the president to change! And MoveOn.org is grate, and the people in it are wonderful, and I love all of you. What a conversation!
Dodd: My plan is to begin redeployment "this evening" or "immediately." That's my plan. We need "new structures and architectures." And a "surge" in diplomacy.
Obama: I opposed this war from the start because I knew it would go badly. McCain's trip to the market was absurd. I've had a real plan since January. We need to talk to people, just the way Reagan did. And I'm committed to building Republican support for ending this war.
One other though: Based on the questions that were asked, either MoveOn.org members ,its staff, or both, are really, REALLY obsessed with oil. Really obsessed.
