Remember when everyone thought this man was some sort of genius?
Rove now claims that the war in Iraq wasn't the idea of anyone in the administration. It was all bin Laden's idea. Or something.
Three thoughts:
1. Given that Bush has already admitted that 9/11 had nothing to do with the Iraq War, isn't this a bit problematic?
2. Does he think we have all forgotten the 2004 election? The War in Iraq was virtually the only thing the president ran for reelection on. Rove is Bush's primary political advisor. Now he wants us to believe that he never liked nor wanted the war in the first place?
3. Since when have we ceded control over our foreign policy decision making process to al Qaeda? I really shouldn't need to say this, but just because bin Laden thinks something is a good idea, we don't actually have to agree with him.
For a guy who apparently can't live without his blackberry, Rove sure seems to have a limited understanding of how the Internet works. You can't run from your past statements anymore. Google exists. YouTube exists. They aren't going away. Doesn't Rove know that?
