Some quick updates you may have missed:
+ The Abramoff investigation just moved much closer to former Majority Leader Tom DeLay.
+ There weren't 8 fired US Attorneys. There were nine. Or more?
+ Gonzales is set to testify before the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow. Of all the lies he has been caught in, this latest one uncovered by Time Magazine might be the worst. Given that we are now just weeks away from seeing Monica Goodling testify under a grant of immunity, I see no reason why Gonzales' latest batch of lies will last any longer than his previous ones.
+ The man in charge of federal student loan problems is resigning. You will never guess why.
+ Four separate Inspector Generals are under investigation for fraud, waste, and abuse. IG's are supposed to be the federal government's watchdogs.
+ 2 senior execs at Veco, an Alaskan oil services firm, pled guilty to bribing members of the Alaska Senate. The corruption goes straight to the top, with Senate president Ben Stevens, son of US Senator Ted Stevens, now under investigation. And yes, this is already having an impact on Ted.
