In case you missed it, the Post has posted parts two and three of their ongoing Cheney series, with part four expected to drop tonight. No summaries from me, because I want to do everything I can to encourage everyone I know to read the entire thing in full.
That said... Cheney's obsession with secrecy is one of the major themes of the piece. That being the case, why does it seem that Cheney's people have absolutely no idea how to keep this nation's secrets safe? Paul and Josh have more over at TPM. This one fact is particularly telling:
According to Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), White House officials have a bad habit of leaving classified documents unattended and then shutting down security officers when they seek to investigate. Things are so bad, officers from the White House Security Office have told Waxman, that over half of the staff from that office has resigned in the past year.
More here. They are so bad at keeping secrets safe that half of the staff in the White House Security Office has resigned in frustration?
Not to beat a dead horse, but can you imagine how that news would have been treated under the Clinton administration? Damn liberal media...
