Big Pharma, Round Three

Kevin Drum's gone on vacation, but that hasn't stopped Anderw Sullivan from continuing their conversation.

Today's entry in Andrew's ongoing effort to prove that European "socialism" has destroyed the ability of European pharmaceutical companies to innovate is backed up by evidence from - and I'm really not making this up - the website of The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations.

Because god knows that an industry association is always the best place to go to get unbiased information about an industry.

This line from Andrew is particularly brilliant:

America is the last refuge for pharmaceutical innovation. And the left wants to kill that off.

He's right, you know. I personally would like nothing more than to see no additional life saving drugs come on the market. In fact, I sit around thinking about it night and day. If only we could find a way to impose "nominal equality" by destroying "quality and progress."

God knows how the left hates "progress." I mean, really, if not for all those conservatives out there, where would progress come from?
