One other thing about the Petraeus testimony. Like so many before him, the General trotted out the "no one could have predicted" line during his testimony. Only one problem - not only did someone predict the unpredictable, it was Petraeus himself who did it.
People: the Internet exists. News no longer disappears. Those things you say? They are saved forever. Why is this so hard for people in DC to understand?
UPDATE: And speaking of history, did Duncan Hunter really just compare General Petraeus to Douglass MacArthur? Really?
