Given that blogs are nothing if not an exercise in self-gratification, I think it is only appropriate that I remind everyone...
Back in March I predicted Gov. Huckabee would seriously change the frontrunners for the Republican nomination in 2008. My emailers told me I was crazy. My students told me I was crazy.
Today, polling in Iowa shows Huckabee in a dead heat with Mitt Romney.
I still think he is the candidate most likely to win the nomination. Giuliani isn't a conservative. Mitt Romney only plays one on TV. But Huckabee? He's both a conservative and an evangelical minister. In a rational world, he would be a lock for the nomination.
