A few things that caught my attention this morning that don't necessarily deserve a full post:
+ Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) thinks waterboarding is "like swimming, freestyle, backstroke." I assume this means he'll volunteer to experience it himself? Video here for those who doubt.
+ Malcolm Gladwell is back, and his stuff is as good as ever. Go read this.
+ Todd Gitlin has 8 great questions for Mike Huckabee. Given that I hope he is the GOP nomination, my hope is that no one will actually ask him these questions until after he has secured the nomination.
+ Ezra Klein, by contrast, has an apparently great recipe for turkey burgers. Mmmm... I love turkey burgers.
+ Bill Clinton is being heckled by robots. Robots!
+ This update on the missing CIA tapes is a perfect example of why I endlessly insist to my students on precision and clarity in their writing. Language matters people!
+ National Review has decided to endorse Mitt Romney for president. Their reasoning? Viability. Good to see standing on principle is still one of the guiding lights of the conservative movement.
+ Obama has caught Hillary in New Hampshire, and he's pulling ahead of her nearly everywhere else. I've always thought the race was his to lose, but now I have evidence to back me up. And what with Huckabee's surge, I damn well may go 2 for 2!
+ Why didn't Romney mention non-believers in his speech? Because they are "assumed within the general purview of faith." Taking the man at his word, we must assume that he thinks "faith" is either a meaningless concept or a non-religious one. Um....OK.
All for now...
