Obama's ability to hit home runs when it matters most is really quite astonishing. At this point in the campaign, he's delivered this same speech quite literally thousands of times, and no doubt sometimes it works better than others. But when he needs to turn it on, its like throwing a switch. The mundane becomes magical.
