I realize this came at the end of a very long night, but still...
The last 5 minutes of MSNBC's coverage tonight was a panel discussion on the dangers of promoting bipartisanship for its own sake. It was as if someone has secretly replaced Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman with Digby and Atrios.
Pat Buchanan explained how it was bipartisanship that brought us the Iraq war. Chris Matthews explained how deluded it is to believe that in politics the best solution always lies somewhere in "the middle," and how in truth it is actually almost always "outside of the box." And on and on.
Now if only these people would start talking like that when people were actually paying attention we might really get somewhere!
