It is now official. "We don't torture," said the president. Except, of course, that we do. Or did.
Waterboarding was and is illegal under US law. There are no "ticking time bomb" exceptions. So that means the DOJ will open an investigation immediately, right? Right?
The rule of law means nothing if it is not applied universally. That's as obvious today as it was in 1776.
UPDATE: Durbin is calling for investigations. Where is Obama on this? Senator, your country needs you on this one. Big time.
