Wow. Ambinder is reporting that the Clintons may have to break into their personal fortune to keep their campaign afloat.
The Clinton's are rich, but they aren't Mitt Romney rich.
Advantage: Obama.
Got cash? Give it up!
UPDATE: Full context here.
Whereas 33% of Clinton's donors in January maxed out for both the primary and general election, only 10% of Obama's have hit their legal limit. A full 63% of her supporters last month gave over $2300, placing them perilously close to the legal limit for the primaries. That leaves her with a very small number of donors she can hit up again this month for more cash.
But a full 26% of Obama's people didn't even break the $200 mark, so assuming they have more to give, this gives Obama an enormous advantage going forward.
UPDATE: Have the Clinton's already been forced to loan themselves money? Mark Halperin certainly implies that here. If so, why is this the first I've heard of this?
