First Thoughts on Wisconsin

In no particular order:

+ Its now ten in a row. And the last few have been by large, double-digit margins.

+ Wisconsin is a big, white, liberal, progressive, blue collar, working class state. Three months ago, the idea that Clinton would have lost it would never have been believed. And although the exit polls that she held on a few key groups, her lead in those groups is now down to small single digits.

+ Clinton's lead with women is gone. MSNBC's exits showed an even split.

+ Clinton's lead among catholics is gone. It was an even 50/50 spilt.

+ Obama is crushing Clinton among men. 67%-31%. Ouch.

+ The only age group Clinton won was 65+. And check out the 18-29 demo. They were 16% of the electorate tonight, and they broke 70%-26% for Obama.

+ There was no single income group that Clinton won. Not one.

+ There was no single education group that Clinton won. Not one.

+ Independents broke 2 to 1 to Obama.

+ A majority of voters thought Obama was better prepared than Clinton to be Commander in Chief. So much for that line of attack.

+ 84% of voters said that the gender of the candidate wasn't important to them. 86% said race wasn't important.

Let me summarize this for you all: More people are voting for Obama than Clinton. Demographics are irrelevant at this point.
