Larry Byrne, an adviser to the Clinton campaign, on Obama's ability to drive new voters to the polls. The Clinton campaign expected that about 600,000 people would vote in Virginia on Tuesday. In the end, nearly 1 million showed up, more than double the amount four years ago.
[Obama] volunteers [in DC] were working with a list of nearly 90,000 likely Obama supporters to target for their votes. The pre-certified election results show 88,232 votes cast for Obama.
