A few things that deserve longer posts but probably won't get them.
Michael Crowley's piece over at TNR takes the most detailed look I've yet seen at Obama's record on Iraq. Know the facts.
John McCain isn't a maverick, nor is he a man of principle. Andrew Sullivan, like so many others, has simply been deluding himself. I will repeat this endlessly between now and November until everyone understands.
One of McCain's themes in the general election will be his experience. But what precisely does that mean? Judging from his record, not much. Obama's line about "experience is not the same thing as time spent in DC" is likely to work quite well here.
Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's Karl Rove, today explicitly argued that the states Hillary didn't win are not "significant." No wonder she will lose the Mountain West if she wins the nomination.
And while I'm on the subject of Penn, it seems most of Hillaryland hates him. Makes sense - he has demonstrated on numerous occasions that he is an incredibly expensive idiot.
Nevertheless, recent polls show a big lead for Hillary in PA and OH. Obama's campaign should take this seriously, but not so seriously that they assume they cannot win. With 2 weeks to campaign in OH, and 5 in PA, I'd be willing to bet that he can win them both. If he - and we - works his ass off.
Ignore the polls in Texas. The primacuacus system there is so complex that statewide numbers are literally meaningless.
Nationally, however, Obama has his largest lead yet.
Hillary Clinton has now officially won the NM caucuses. Interesting timing. Her husband Bill just today said that caucuses aren't fair and don't matter. So can I assume she will be giving her delegates in NM to Obama then?
Hillary Clinton's plan for our mortgage mess is awful. Really awful.
