Bits and Bobs

A few odds and ends from today's news:

+ After the final vote totals were calculated, Obama picked up another pledged delegate in Mississippi. Because it was taken away from Clinton's column, that's a net of +2.

+ Wonder what a credentials committee is, and more importantly, what it does? See Greg Sargent.

+ This idea of creating a "music tax" imposed by your ISP to account for the "costs" of illegal file sharing is insane. It might help the major labels recoup some cash, but it will do absolutely nothing for independent music producers and labels. Why on earth should we create a system that essentially enshrines the dominance of the majors into our monthly bills?

+ There's something strange going on with Gallup's tracking poll. It was strange enough that it seemed to follow a sine wave pattern, but now we learn that there's a definite "day of the week effect" too?

+ CIA director Michael Hayden believes that torture is just "a legal term." Nice to know.

+ How incompetent are the organizations managed by George W. Bush? The foundation responsible for building and managing his Presidential Library couldn't even manage to keep his domain name registered. So ridiculous you couldn't make it up.

+ The TSA's new security checkpoint design features a chill out lounge? All those years of working to promote electronic music, and we end up with this?

+ As Elizabeth Edwards recently pointed out, John McCain's plan for reforming our health care system is so bad that John McCain himself might be denied coverage.

+ Aloha Airlines just went out of business?
