When last week's story broke about the Clinton campaign's connection to the wretched Richard Mellon-Scaife, I flipped out. I tried to offer a more rational response the next day, and although I think I largely succeeded, I realize now that my analysis was incomplete.
It's not just that Scafie has a horrible past; it is also that he is likely to attempt similar things in the not so distant future. And by not so distant, I mean today. Scafie may have made his peace with the Clintons, but his opposition to other Democratic candidates and causes remains as fierce and vitriolic as ever.
From Scafie's pro-Clinton, anti-Democratic Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, I give you "Obama's indoctrination":
Until I heard the racist and anti-American tirades of Barack Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, it hadn't occurred to me that the murderous fires in the black community were being stoked from the pulpits inside black churches.
I wonder if it's ever occurred to Obama and Wright that it probably doesn't help young people in the black community when they're told that their country hates them, that the U.S. government gave them drugs and AIDS, and that jail and genocide are the officially-sanctioned plan for them...For 20 years, Barack Obama drank the aforementioned Kool-Aid, never seeing the problem. That makes him a problem.
If you want to read the full thing, you can do so. I'm not going to quote any more than this simply because I don't want to provide any more promotion for this wretched thing than absolutely necessary.
Drudge. Limbaugh. And now Scafie. These are the people the Clinton's have chosen to align with. Whatever it takes, even if it means embracing the very same "vast right-wing conspiracy" that once tried to destroy them.
