The gas tax "holiday" idea was stupid, but that was just because it was bad policy. This latest pander from Clinton isn't just bad policy, its nonsensically, impossibly, the-moon-is-made-of-cheese-and-inhabited-by-magical-ponies stupid.
Yes, OPEC is a cartel and a monopoly. But it is a cartel made up of sovereign nations, not corporations. So no, antitrust actions in US courts can't be used to "hold them accountable." And accountable for what? For selling oil at its market value?
Clinton isn't stupid. She knows what she is saying is nonsense, and yet she says it anyway. She's not stupid, but she must think you are.
