On a personal note, can I say that I am beyond ecstatic that Obama clinched the nomination by winning Montana? Because I'm beyond ecstatic.
Since the very beginning of this blog, I've been arguing that the future of the Democratic Party is in the Inter-Mountain West: Montana. Colorado. New Mexico. Nevada. Arizona. The politics of the region have changed dramatically over the past decade, and the sooner the Dems realize this, the sooner they will dominate our political system.
Think big, Barack! Pick Gov. Schweitzer as your running mate! A western rancher who drives a pickup, speaks Arabic, wears a bolo tie, spent years living in Saudi Arabia, has a Masters in Soil Science, brings his dog to work in a truck, is an opponent of REAL ID, believes in gun control (as in "you control your gun and I'll control mine"), and oh yeah... has a history of turning a very red state blue? He's perfect.
